BayCom Version 1.60 Packet Software

LEGACY PRODUCT NOTICE: Our BayPac modem series (BP-1, BP-2, BP-2M and BP-96A) is no longer supported beyond the information found below and on other related pages of our website. This is due to the fact that these modems have not been compatible with any version of Windows released in the last ~20 years, and have been replaced by much more capable hardware (SignaLink USB).

Note: Under are new license agreement, all BayPac modems are now supplied with BayCom v1.6 software. The BayCom manual is supplied on disk, in Word 6.0/WordPad format. Printed manuals are supplied only with BayCom software packages that were purchased under our old license agreement. These software packages with printed manuals can be purchased separately while supplies last.

BayCom is probably the most popular packet program available today. It is very easy to install, setup and operate! BayCom is also a top notch performer! It runs well on just about any IBM compatible computer, from the old 8088's to the new Pentium's!

BayCom does require a 100% IBM compatible computer, running MS-DOS 3.0 or higher ( BayCom is not designed for multi-tasking environments like Windows!). BayCom communicates with low speed modems (300/1200 baud) through the serial port (COM1 - COM4) and with high speed modems, like the BP-96A (9600 baud), through the parallel port.

The program supports up to eight simultaneous connections at 300, 1200 and 9600 baud. Both ASCII and binary files can be transferred manually, or automatically using the built-in AUTOBIN file transfer protocol. Reception of 7-Plus encoded files is also supported. Version 1.6 also features keyboard Macros, a Screen Saver and numerous other improvements.

BayCom supports Remote Operation, so that you (or a friend) can access and control your packet station remotely. Through the use of the remote commands, BayCom can be configured as a simple Mailbox or Mini-BBS.

BayCom v1.6 Packet Terminal Software is a product of the BayCom Team in Germany. Tigertronics is the only authorized U.S. distributor of BayCom software.
